The Clergy tartan is sometimes called ‘The Priest’s Sett’, but in the Highlands is known as ‘Breacan nan Cleirach’ – the tartan of the Clergy. In earlier times it is recorded that the Highland clergy wore the Highland dress and even carried arms.
